Today pick up your rental car (not included) and drive south to Girdwood. Check into The Hotel Alyeska for your overnight stay.  This evening, simply relax by the cozy fireplace in the hotel’s sitting lounge or take a dip in the saltwater pool or Jacuzzi.

Today is yours free to enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, or other optional activities at Alyeska, Alaska’s premier ski resort. Mt. Saturday, March 5, 2022 Anchorage: Ceremonial Start of Iditarod

Gather in downtown Anchorage this morning for the start of “the last great race on earth”!  Enjoy the festive atmosphere and take pictures of your favorite mushers and their amazing dogs.

Iditarod mushers and their dog teams travel over 1150 miles of the roughest, most beautiful and rugged terrain Mother Nature has to offer. Overnight in Anchorage.

Sunday, March 6, 2022 Anchorage – Willow: Official Iditarod Start (transfers included)

Today, witness a special event – the official starting line of the famous Iditarod Race!! Enjoy homemade scones and hot chocolate on the guided drive to Willow and once there, you’ll have access to hot, delicious food served in a warm-up tent all day. Salmon pate, Reindeer hot dogs, beefy chili, homemade brownies, and hot beverages.  A musher will start the race every two minutes until 5pm and you’ll stay the duration! Overnight in Anchorage

Your tour comes to an end.  Return home and continue to follow the Iditarod race by visiting iditarod.com or watch the television news for updates!
