Alaska is known for abundant glaciers, rivers, lakes and amazing shorelines. The icon of many superlatives – the most, the biggest, longest – highest! It is home to seemingly endless herds of caribou, meandering moose, Dall sheep hanging on the cliffsides, and many other wild animals – including the world’s largest concentration of bears!

Experience the incredible beauty of the famous Kenai Peninsula, pristine wonders of Prince William Sound and the awesome six million acres Denali National Park. Travel at your own pace on this independent journey, enjoying local hospitality along the way.
All accommodations are bed and breakfast style, where you can really get to know the locals as you hear tales of their adventures in the Last Frontier.

Day 1 – Anchorage
Upon arrival at the airport in Anchorage pick up your rental car and transfer to your bed and breakfast for your overnight in Anchorage. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 2 – Seward
This morning, head south, along a scenic stretch of the Seward Highway, named a national scenic byway – famously known as “Turnagain Arm”. En route, optional stops include the Alyeska Resort Aerial Tramway, Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center or Begich Boggs Visitor Center at Portage Lake. Arrive in the seaside community of Seward for your overnight. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 3 – Seward
Board a scenic cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park. Watch for abundant wildlife, colorful seabirds and spectacular glaciers calving. This tour is fully narrated and lunch is included. Overnight in Seward. (Continental Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4 – Seward/Valdez
Continue the journey with a scenic drive from Seward to Whittier. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way. Travel through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, North America’s longest tunnel, before reaching Whittier. Upon arrival, board the Alaska Marine Highway ferry with your car for a cruise through Prince William Sound. Overnight in Valdez, shared bath. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 5 – Valdez/Palmer
Leave Valdez this morning and head north and then south to the Knik River. Pass by the western edge of the huge Wrangell–St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Look for four prominent peaks of the majestic Wrangell Mountains: Mts. Sanford, Drum, Wrangell and Blackburn. Continue to Palmer for your overnight. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 6 – Palmer
Explore Hatcher Pass and the Independence Mine or visit the Palmer Musk Ox Farm. This peaceful location is a treat as it is one that few travelers have discovered. Overnight again in Palmer. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 7 – Palmer/Denali
Travel north on the Parks Highway to Denali. The drive between Palmer and Denali offers breathtaking scenery and you may see wildlife along the way. Depending on the weather, the majestic Denali may be visible near Talkeetna. Overnight at Denali Park Entrance. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 8 – Denali
This morning, embark on the Tundra Wilderness Tour, a 5–5.5 hour excursion into the park with a certified driver-naturalist. This tour will guide you along the spectacular road corridor, promising different experiences every day, as Denali’s wildlife moves at its own pace and according to the seasons. Travel to the Murie Cabin near the East Fork River (Mile 43) to experience where Adolf Murie lived while conducting his famous research inside what was then known as Mount McKinley National Park!

Day 9 – Denali/Fairbanks
Enjoy another scenic drive on your way north to Fairbanks. Known as “Alaska’s Golden Heart City”, this community serves as a hub for Interior and Arctic regions. Overnight near Fairbanks. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 10 – Fairbanks
Today is free to explore Interior Alaska. You may opt to take a riverboat cruise, experience Alaska’s Arctic villages, or tour the state-of-the-art Museum of the North. Overnight near Fairbanks. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 11 – Fairbanks/Anchorage 
Drop off your car today at the Fairbanks International Airport. End of tour. (Continental Breakfast)
